Using the Carousel feature in an RCS broadcast

You can now make your RCS broadcasts more engaging by adding carousel cards. You can showcase multiple images, products, or options in a single message, giving users a smooth browsing experience. The Carousel feature lets you design and send visually rich content directly from the Conversation stepper in your RCS broadcasts.

Adding a Carousel Card

To add a carousel:

1. Go to Text Messaging>Broadcasts.

2. Click + NEW BROADCAST.

3. In the Conversation stepper, select Send as RCS.

4. Within the message container, click on the Actions menu (three vertical dots).

5. Select Add Rich Content from the Actions menu.

6. In the Rich Content modal, select Carousel from the available options. You can select only one option.

The Carousel feature allows you to add multiple cards in a single RCS message.

Click on Carousel to begin creating cards. By default, you’ll see Card #1 and Card #2. You can add more cards by clicking the + icon.

Note: Click the “+” icon to add additional cards, up to a maximum of 10. Once 10 cards are added, the ‘+’ icon will be disabled.

For each carousel, you can enter:

Field Description
Title (Mandatory) Main heading of the card (short and clear, maximum limit of 200 characters).
Card Width (Mandatory)

Choose Small or Medium.

Description Supporting text that explains the card (maximum limit of 2000 characters).

The right-hand side mobile preview simulates how the carousel will appear on a user’s device. When you add, edit, or delete a Suggested Action or Suggested Reply, the change is instantly reflected in the corresponding Carousel Card within the Mobile Preview. This ensures you can accurately visualize how interactive elements (such as buttons or chips) will appear to recipients in the final RCS message broadcast.

Within the Carousel layout, you can add:

Dynamic Tags : Insert personalized tags.

Attach Media : Add media. The “Attach Media” option allows you to add only one file at a time.

Note: Attaching media is mandatory. Only the following RCS-supported file formats are available for selection in the My Gallery modal:

  • Images: .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png

  • Videos: .mp4

Other formats, such as .3gp and .vcf, are not supported by RCS.

Insert Emoji : Enhance tone with emojis. You can also use the search bar in the emoji picker to quickly find the emoji you need, making it easier to browse and insert emojis within the editor. Click the selected emoji to attach an emoji to the message.

The following options are available in the Carousel Card Actionsmenu of each Carousel tab:

• Add Suggested Action

Sending Test for Carousel Card Messages

You can use the “Send Test” feature for carousel card messages to test how they appear on actual mobile devices before broadcasting, exactly as they behave in the live message.

On the Review page, you can preview your carousel messages, allowing you to validate how your carousel will appear to recipients before it is sent. The mobile preview displays the carousel in the same swipeable format, just as it will appear to recipients.
